Donor-specific financial reporting for an Ethiopian NGO
A development organization juggling multiple donors needed financial reporting that matched each donor's format and grant rules — without maintaining a parallel set of books per project.
Client: A donor-funded development organization
The challenge
Each donor required its own budget structure, expense categories and reporting template. Finance staff were rebuilding the same numbers in different shapes for every grant — a recurring, high-stakes manual effort at every reporting cycle.
Leadership had no single view of spend-against-budget across all projects and donors at once.
What we built
NYLOS configured project- and grant-level cost centers in the Finance & Accounting and Project modules, so every transaction is tagged to its project, donor and budget line at the point of entry.
A custom reporting layer maps the single underlying ledger into each donor's required format — one set of books, many donor-shaped reports.
Budget-vs-actual dashboards give leadership a real-time, all-projects view.
