NYLOS solution · Cloud, private cloud, or on-premise · 2026
ERP deployment,
your way.
NYLOS supports three deployment models on the same codebase: NYLOS Cloud (fully managed by us), private cloud (deployed in your AWS, Azure or GCP account), and on-premise (inside your firewall, offline-tolerant). Pick the model that fits your sovereignty, connectivity, cost and operational reality. Move between models later without data loss.
We help you make the choice during discovery. Most Ethiopian SMEs start on NYLOS Cloud. Banks, MFIs and government tenants typically choose private cloud or on-premise. Multi-branch operators with mixed connectivity often run hybrid.
Three deployment models
Same codebase, three operating realities.
- 01
NYLOS Cloud
SMEs · Distributed teams · NGOs · Startups
Fully managed by NYLOS on regulated public cloud infrastructure. Zero servers to operate. Automatic updates. Best for SMEs and distributed teams that prioritize speed-to-value.
Low operational overhead; NYLOS manages the stack.
- 02
Private cloud
Mid-market · Banks · MFIs · Regulated industries
Deploy inside your AWS, Azure, GCP or local data centre account. NYLOS engineers run the install and hand over operations to your team or jointly manage.
Customer-owned cloud account; data residency under customer control.
- 03
On-premise
Government · Large enterprises · Connectivity-constrained operations
Installed behind your firewall. Offline-tolerant. Best for organizations with strict data sovereignty requirements or operating in connectivity-constrained sites.
Full data sovereignty; customer manages infrastructure with NYLOS support.
Six dimensions to choose by
How to make the call.
- 01
Data sovereignty
Some industries (banking, government, healthcare) have explicit data-residency requirements. Private cloud or on-premise deployment puts data under customer-controlled infrastructure. Cloud puts data on the public cloud provider's infrastructure, with the cloud provider's compliance posture. - 02
Connectivity
Public cloud ERP requires reliable internet for daily operation. For sites with intermittent connectivity, on-premise deployment with offline-tolerant clients is the right pattern. Private cloud sits in between, depending on your data centre's connectivity. - 03
Operational overhead
NYLOS Cloud is fully managed — zero servers to operate. Private cloud requires your team to maintain the cloud account, networking, backup and disaster recovery. On-premise adds physical infrastructure operations. - 04
Total cost
Cloud has lower upfront cost (no servers) but ongoing subscription and bandwidth costs. Private cloud has cloud-provider costs plus our subscription. On-premise has the highest upfront cost but lowest ongoing cost over 5+ years. - 05
Scalability
Cloud scales elastically — resources adjust to load. Private cloud scales similarly within the customer's cloud account. On-premise scaling requires hardware purchases and physical capacity expansion. - 06
Update cadence
Cloud and private cloud receive updates automatically per NYLOS release cycle. On-premise updates are applied on customer schedule — typically quarterly — giving more change control but later access to new features.
Cloud platforms we support
From hyperscale to Ethiopian data centres.
AWS
Most mature cloud platform. AWS regions in Cape Town (af-south-1) and others in Europe and the Middle East provide reasonable latency to Ethiopia. NYLOS supports AWS deployment with managed-services patterns.
Azure
Strong enterprise integration. Azure regions in South Africa and Europe provide latency options. Azure Active Directory integration is valuable for enterprise customers already using Microsoft 365.
Google Cloud
Growing African presence. Google Cloud regions in South Africa support sub-100ms latency from Ethiopia. Strong analytics and AI/ML integration.
Ethiopian providers
Local data centre providers (where regulated and available) offer in-country data residency. Latency to Ethiopian users is minimal; redundancy options may be more limited than hyperscale clouds.
Security posture
The same security standards across all three models.
- Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest for all customer data
- Role-based access control with field-level permission overrides where needed
- Multi-factor authentication available for any user role
- Audit-grade activity logging on every transaction
- Daily encrypted backups with quarterly restore tests
- Configurable password and session policies
- Disaster recovery procedures documented and rehearsed
- Vulnerability scanning and security patching cadence
