NYLOS solution · Custom enterprise software · 2026 guide
Custom software,
engineered in Addis Ababa.
NYLOS Custom Software Development builds bespoke enterprise software for Ethiopian and African businesses with workflows no off-the-shelf product handles. We extend the NYLOS ERP platform with custom modules, build standalone mobile and web applications, develop API integrations with Ethiopian banks and partner systems, and engineer AI agents and automation for enterprise operations.
The team — engineers, designer, QA, project manager — works from our Bethlehem Plaza office in Addis Ababa. No offshore handoffs. No time-zone friction. Same accountable team builds your software and maintains it.
Who it's for
Organizations with non-standard workflows.
- 01
Ethiopian enterprises with unique workflows
When the standard NYLOS modules cover 80% of a business but the remaining 20% is the differentiator. We extend the platform natively, sharing the same database, security, audit trail and UI. - 02
Government & regulators with specialized processes
Public-sector workflows often have requirements no off-the-shelf software handles cleanly. We design and build domain-specific systems with the compliance and audit posture government deployments require. - 03
Banks, microfinance & insurers
Financial-services workflows — core banking adapters, scoring engines, claims processing — built securely on top of or alongside the NYLOS platform with full audit-grade logging. - 04
NGOs & donor-funded projects
Donor-specific reporting, project tracking, beneficiary management and field data collection — custom tools designed for the audit requirements of major Ethiopian donors and international funders. - 05
Manufacturers with proprietary processes
Production lines, quality systems and shop-floor workflows that need bespoke software — typically extending NYLOS Manufacturing with specialized modules.
What's included
Seven things that come with every engagement.
- 01
Discovery & business analysis
We map your processes end-to-end before writing code. Workshops with the operating team, current-system audit, requirements documentation. The outcome is a written spec both sides sign off on before development starts. - 02
Solution design
Architecture, data model, user-flow design and visual design — produced as artifacts you keep regardless of whether NYLOS or another team builds. Design includes Ethiopian-context fit (Amharic, EFY, MOR compliance where relevant). - 03
Engineering
Build by a dedicated NYLOS team — engineers, designer, QA — with weekly demo cadence. Code reviewed, tested, instrumented from day one. - 04
Quality assurance
Automated tests for critical paths, manual QA against acceptance criteria, performance and security testing before production cut-over. - 05
Integration
Connect to NYLOS ERP modules where relevant, to Ethiopian banking APIs where available, to biometric/POS hardware, to government systems where exposed, and to any partner system via REST API. - 06
Training
Role-based training for the users who will operate the new system, in English or Amharic, on-site or remote. - 07
Long-term support
Production support, bug fixes, feature evolution, compliance updates. The same team that built it stays available to maintain it as the business changes.
Methodology
How we get from discovery to go-live.
- 01
Discovery
Weeks 1–2
Map workflows, document requirements, identify constraints (regulatory, technical, operational). Produce a written specification both sides approve before development. - 02
Design
Weeks 2–3
Architecture, data model, user-flow design and visual design. Stakeholder review at the end; revision cycle before development starts. - 03
Engineering sprint 1
Weeks 3–5
First feature slice built end-to-end. Weekly demo. Acceptance criteria reviewed; backlog refined. - 04
Engineering sprints 2–N
Weeks 5–12+
Feature slices delivered in 2-week sprints with weekly demo. Stakeholder feedback feeds the backlog. - 05
QA & user acceptance
Final 2 weeks
Automated and manual QA against acceptance criteria. User acceptance testing with operating-team representatives. - 06
Go-live
Cutover week
Production deployment, training, hyper-care. NYLOS engineers on hand for the first cycle. - 07
Support & evolution
Ongoing
Production support contract or retainer for bug fixes, feature evolution and compliance updates.
Outcomes
What you get from every project.
Bespoke modules built inside the NYLOS platform share the same database, security, audit and reporting as your other modules.
From discovery to go-live, depending on scope. Small modules (a single workflow) ship in 8 weeks; larger systems ship in 16–24.
Dedicated team for the engagement. No contractor churn, no offshore handoffs.
The same team that built the system maintains it. One accountable vendor for the lifetime of the software.

Ethiopian context
Built for Ethiopian regulatory reality.
Every NYLOS custom build inherits the Ethiopian regulatory and operational context the NYLOS platform was designed for. MOR-compliant invoicing, Labor Proclamation 1156/2019 payroll behavior, ERCA tax structures, IFRS for SMEs financial reporting, Ethiopian Fiscal Year handling and Amharic-ready interfaces are available patterns we apply when relevant.
For projects outside the ERP space (mobile apps, AI agents, integrations) we still bring Ethiopian context to design decisions: Amharic and English language support, EFY date display where appropriate, Birr currency formatting, multi-branch reality, and connectivity-constrained deployment patterns.

Pricing model
Fixed-price discovery, transparent engineering.
Discovery is fixed-price. At the end of discovery we deliver a written specification with a fixed engineering timeline and budget commitment.
Engineering is typically time-and-materials with sprint-based scope commitments — we commit to deliver a specific feature slice each sprint, and you decide whether to continue with the next sprint based on what you've seen.
Long-term support and feature evolution are typically through a retainer arrangement — a fixed monthly amount for a fixed engineering capacity.
Everything is denominated in Ethiopian Birr.
Engagement shapes
- Discovery — fixed-price (1–2 weeks)
- Module build — time & materials with sprint scope
- Mobile app — typically fixed-price after discovery
- Integration project — fixed-price
- Long-term support — monthly retainer
